Circa 1890 Denver Railroad Crew Cabinet Photo

I recently picked up this smaller sized cabinet photo of a railroad work crew. The original dealer for this photo had a note on it saying it was from Denver and it was dated August 18, 1890. If it is from Denver, it could be the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad Company. Nice example of workwear.

  1. Nice photo. I've been collecting these old photos too for awhile. I especially like the 'hand tinted' ones. Its always amazing to note the different outfits worn. You almost never see two guys with the same things on including hats. Which I suppose suggests there was a huge variety of work wear available.

  2. Not only were there countless numbers of companies producing work wear, there were also countless numbers of pieces that were being mended and repaired at home.
