April 4th,1889 invoice from the William Meyers & Company. The company did business out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Great illustration of two horses trying to rip their overalls.

Hawley, Minnesota Painting Crew Cabinet Photo by S.P. Wange

Unidentified cabinet photo featuring a group of painters. The photo was taken by S.P. Wange of Hawley, Minnesota. A quick search revealed the S.P. is Sylvester Peter Wange (1866-1956). He was born in Norway and worked in Hawley from the late 1890s to the mid 1920s. He was one of the pioneering photographers of Clay County. An interesting side note about his photography studio  is that it also served as a barber shop

1883 Levi Strauss & Co. Invoice

Great invoice from Levi Strauss & Company dated October 19, 1883. The invoice comes from 14 & 16 Battery Street in San Francisco, California. Levi Strauss moved his headquarters into this location in 1866 and remained their for 40 years until the 1906 earthquake destroyed basically everything. Even though it has been 10 years since Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis have patented their jeans, the main focus on the billhead is the dry goods business. The invoice was printed by W.T. (William T.) Galloway & Company in San Francisco. The thing I like most about this piece is the received stamp at the bottom of the invoice.

1923 Hamilton Carhartt Cotton Mills Canceled Check

Hamilton Carhartt Cotton Mills, Limited canceled check dated May 31st, 1923 for $16.90 from The Bank Of Nova Scotia. The check is made out to McLean Bros., in Goderich, Ontario. This check is from Carhartt's Toronto Unit which started operations around 1910.

Circa 1900 Sweet, Orr & Company advertising postcard featuring The "Sweet-Orr" Girl. This card is No. 4 out of, what I assume from researching, a series of 5. The back features a fac-smilie of the celebrated "Sweet-Orr Stripe." From what I can tell, the bottom back portion of the card was originally printed with a blank space and upon ordering the cards the dealer's name/business would be added.
